At the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Louis Oosthuizen was in a sense playing for his country, and his P2 finish improved his chances to represent home
in the official sense at the summer Olympics in Japan.

He is 33rd in the world ranking, which essentially mirrors the Olympic Golf Rankings qualifying list for men and the Rolex Rankings for women.
Men’s qualifying ends June 21st, but using the April 20th ranking here’s how PING pros are positioned: Matthias Schwab would play for Austria; Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, Canada; Joaquín Niemann, Chile; Sebastian Muñoz, Colombia; Victor Perez, France; Stephan Jaeger, Germany; Tyrrell Hatton, Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Takumi Kanaya, Japan; Viktor Hovland, Norway; and Adrian Meronk, Poland.

Women’s qualifying ends June 28th, and as it stands Brooke Henderson would represent Canada; Caroline Masson, Germany; Hinako Shibuno, Japan;
Bianca Pagdanganan, The Philippines; Azahara Muñoz, Spain; and Jennifer Kupcho for the United States.

Sixty men and 60women will compete at Kasumigaseki Country Club southwest of Tokyo.
